Constant turn-by-turn walking navigation through Tokyo or Kyoto—five or six hours of actual map use, checking transit connections, looking up restaurant addresses—consumes roughly 150 to 250 MB per day. If you download the offline map for Tokyo and Kansai before your trip, that drops to under 100 MB because the app only fetches live traffic and transit updates, not the base map tiles. One full day of heavy use (twelve hours navigating on foot, multiple train-route queries, searching for konbini and coin lockers) can push 400 MB, but that's unusual unless you're also loading every user review and photo for every restaurant and shrine along the way.
Can I use a Japan eSIM in South Korea on the same trip?
Not with a Japan-only eSIM; the profile is locked to Japanese networks and won't connect in Seoul or Busan.
